We are still making 95% of our meals and shopping less but we aren’t in the same place we were before since shopping has mostly returned to normal. I might update periodically and if things change more often but I can’t keep up with the daily posts now.
We picked my car up so we stopped and got sandwiches and ingredients for tomorrow’s dinner at the Italian store.
For dinner I made sesame soba noodles with tofu, cucumber and snow peas.
I did a lot of weaving but one warp broke! I have to wait for some special needles to arrive to try and fix it.
We watched Resident Alien on Peacock, we got a free six months with our internet provider.
For dinner I made a salad with the beets we smoked over the weekend and we had come chicken from Dominicks. We had to deal with the cars so we were beat!
For brunch Matt made pancakes. So good! He real has perfected pancakes during all this.
I made made crumble bars.
For dinner we smoked some lamb on the grill that I had bought frozen last year! It got done way faster than expected, maybe because it was very hot so that threw our meal plans off a bit. We ended up eating it cold with some stuffed grapes leaves and a tomato salad I made with mozzarella pearls, parsley and cucumber.
We drove out to Sykesville near their little historic Main Street to pick up a inkle loom from FB Marketplace and caught the tail end of a tiny parade (advertised as having 30 people plus floats) and someone getting a novelty sized check for $25,000 for fixing up historic main streets.
Then we stopped in this sandwich shop in the parking lot of a gas station and brought home sandwiches. To our surprise they were massive and they must make their own marble rye and Cuban bread. Who knew, weird little place??
And the loom lady gave me a big box of yarn, supplies and books to go with the barely used loom! Not bad for $50!
Then we got soft crabs and made them with some leftover beet mashed potatoes.
I made a little plum dessert
We watched more Candace Renoir on Acorn
